Clear Your Shit: We see the Wizard (With a Map)

I feel my eyelids getting heavy. The small campsite we've been lounging in is so comfortable with so many interesting reads. It's tempting to just spend the day here, but reluctantly Heather and I gather our things, thank Chris again with a few more trinkets we found, and set off again. We make excellent time because for once, this leg of our journey is uneventful. The birds are chirping sweetly in the trees and the road has been surprisingly empty and with fewer roots and upturned stones than normal. I decide this is the perfect time to start in on another book and dig Jade War by Fonda Lee out of my bag. I open the front cover and a scroll seems to be smooshed in it. The Map! How convenient and perfect! Just as I'm about to unroll it I bump into none other than the jerk Wizard again, standing right there in the middle of the road where I swear he wasn't a moment ago.

"You're completing this entirely too easily." He mumbles. I don't think he meant for me to hear it. He wiggles his fingers in my direction and suddenly I'm clutching thin air. He has our map! He gives us a smug smile and waves the scroll in our direction before he poofs away again. I'm so stunned that all I can do is give Heather a look she can only interpret as Did you see what that jerk did?! All we can do now is keep following the road.
